about

Emily Ball's Trip to Litton / The Rock

Ian wrote this piece for his then girlfriend Emily Ball, when their ceilidh band was in dire need of a 48 bar jig. Litton is a small and lovely village in Derbyshire.

Kristian wrote the second jig while studying on exchange at the Sibelius Academy's folk music department in the autumn of 2006. He was in quite a poetic mood when he found the name for it, inspired by the view out of the window of the little practice room and maybe a bit by how the tune could be played, actually.
